Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

I believe that if everyone in the world could get bodywork on a regular basis, that we would live in a different world. In that ideal world, massage therapy would not be considered a luxury, but rather a fundamental part of a wellness paradigm to support each individual's health and well-being.

Pain happens in the body for many reasons. Many people learn to ignore small aches and pains, tough it out until the symptoms subside...or just learn to live with various levels of discomfort. Often the healing process forms scar tissue, which over time causes distortion in the skeletal system and in the soft tissues that hold it together and move it. The inflammation subsides, and you forget about it. Until your system comes under stress...ever notice how the pain often returns in the same spot? When I see an elderly person walking bent over, unable to lift his or her head, I can't help but think that it could have potentially been avoided had simple measures been employed along the way.

One of the best things I heard from a client several years ago was that I had "made it OK" for her to take care of herself...Anyone who flies hears it repeatedly: "Put your own mask on first!"
